Health & Wellness
Biking is one of the healthy pastimes that kids pick up and almost never outgrow. Here are some of the other benefits of cycling:
There are few activities better than riding a bike when it comes to developing balance, joint strength, and a sense of community.
Develops strength, balance, and overall fitness
Raises metabolic rate and burns calories
Strengthens heart, lungs, and lower-body muscles and bones
Develops and strengthens the muscles surrounding the knees without impact
Community
Bicycling can bridge generations, bring families together, and foster new relationships.
Social acceptance and emotional health are key in creating a positive sense of self. Having the option to ride a bicycle with peers and family members creates a sense of belonging that is critical in every child’s development. Participate in a “shared” activity with others.

Transportation
A bike is more than just a bike. To many, it’s a necessity. A bike is a reliable, sustainable mode of transportation. Bikes are used to get to school, work, job interviews and to run errands. Through our bike share program, bikes are delivered to organizations who provide housing to homeless teens and adults in order to help them get where they need to go.
Why We Do it?
The feeling of getting your first bike is something that lasts a lifetime.
Whether it was waiting for you with a bow on the handlebars or sprung on you as a surprise, the rush of excitement as you ran to it and climbed onto the seat is an experience we all share in. Not knowing how to ride didn’t matter, in that moment you were confident and determined to figure it out.
You were the proud owner of your very own piece of freedom. Your first set of wheels. This collection of memories, moments, and emotions is why we do what we do. The adventures created on your bike may fade into distant memory, but you never forgot. And any adult who has had the opportunity to give a child their first bike will tell you, there are few things quite as magical as that moment.

We believe that something as simple as a bike can open up a fresh and unseen new world to a child. Waking up a sense of freedom, self-reliance, and mobility. Not to mention a healthy love of the outdoors, which is more important than ever in a world of digital devices.
